Designing Tips for Master Bedroom

1.HAVE BUILT IN WARDROBE & DRESSING SPACE

Incorporating a built-in wardrobe into a master bedroom can maximize space, provide efficient storage, and enhance the room’s overall design. Plan for different sections such as hanging space, shelves, drawers, and shoe racks. Include areas for accessories and linens as needed. Choose materials and finishes that complement the rest of your bedroom decor. Options include wood, laminate, glass, or metal. Install LED lights or motion sensor lights inside the wardrobe to illuminate the space.

Creating a functional and stylish dressing space in your master bedroom can enhance both the aesthetic and practicality of the room. Incorporate a vanity with a large mirror and adequate lighting. Include open shelving, drawers, and built-in organizers in the dressing area for accessories, jewellery, and personal items. Consider pull-out trays or hidden compartments for added convenience. Ensure that the design of the built-in wardrobe and dressing space is cohesive.

2. DESIGN A FOCAL WALL

Designing a focal wall in a master bedroom can add depth, interest, and a touch of personality to the space. Typically, the wall behind the bed is the best choice for focal wall. That’s not always the case, though! If your bedroom has a wall of windows, that can also be a great place to design a focal wall that will highlight this architectural feature. Accentuate the wall by introducing decorative finishes like wallpaper, tufted upholstery, patterns, panelling or paint in a contrasting colour. You could also create a statement wall with a large piece of art or sculpture.

3. NATURAL LIGHTING AND CURTAINS

Natural light can transform a bedroom, making it feel more spacious, inviting, and energizing. Use large windows or floor-to-ceiling glass to allow more natural light into the room. Opt for light or neutral wall colours such as whites, creams, light greys, or pastels. These colours reflect light better than dark shades and help make the room feel brighter.  Combine sheer curtains with heavier drapes. Use sheers during the day to let light in and pull the heavier curtains at night for privacy and darkness. Opt for floor-length curtains to create a dramatic and elegant look.

4. COORDINATE FURNITURE

Coordinating furniture is key to creating a cohesive and harmonious space. Rooms that coordinate have varied textures, prints, materials, and tones that work together and appear balanced and cohesive. Select a style that complements all pieces. For a modern look, choose sleek, minimalist each furniture and for traditional look opt for classic designs and materials. Incorporate items like side tables or ottomans that complement the furniture and enhance functionality.

5. INCLUDE MOOD LIGHTING

Mood lighting sets the tone for the room, helps with relaxation, and enhances the overall aesthetic. Install dimmer switches, smart lights and adjustable fixtures to easily adjust the brightness according to the time of day or mood. Use warm white for a cozy, relaxing atmosphere and cool white if you need bright, focused light for tasks. Install LED strips behind the headboard, TV, or shelves for a soft, indirect light that adds a modern touch. Use scented or unscented candles to add a warm, flickering glow.
